Moving

Its November already! New depot, new month, new website! I've been working on a new Japanese website lately, and have decided to blog on the new website from this month on. So this is an announcement that my blog will be moved to http://www.adventuresouth-japan.com/ayaka-s-blog/

For those of you who followed my blog here for the last five months, thanks for reading! Although I enjoyed writing in English here, on the new site I will be writing in Japanese mainly because the site's target is just Japanese people. When I go back to Japan to guide tours next year I may come back to write more in my Japanglish :-) So I won't delete this blog right away and hope to be seen again. Until then happy pedaling!

Guide training

Guide training this week. Well the Monday was a public holiday so it really started yesterday 27th. We cover various topics, like administration, food stuff (important!), actual riding, team dynamics, first aid, vehicle & bike maintenance etc etc. Yesterday we went to Ashley Gorage for a ride, which is included in the new Molesworth bike tour. Stayed in a lovely winery cottage in Glenmark, tasted wine, and had kiwi style BBQ, which I didn't even have a chance to take photos of, because it just went so fast! And this Friday will be our official opening for the new depot. Looking forward to it!

ガイド修行中です。。

今週はアドベンチャーサウスのガイドトレーニング週間です。朝食やランチの準備、ファーストエイド、バイクやバスのメンテナンスなど、ツアーを運営する上で必要なトピックをいろいろと学んでいます。月曜は勤労感謝の日でお休みだったので、トレーニングは火曜からスタート。火曜午後から、ガイド総勢15名でバスに乗ってワイパラへ移動し、最新ツアーのモールズワースツアーで通る、アシュリー谷を走ってきました。夜は火をおこして、テラスでバーベキュー。宿はツアーで利用する、ワイパラのぶどう園のど真ん中にあるコテージに泊まりました。

が、ベッド数が足りないということで、3人はコテージ庭でキャンプすることに。他のガイドのいびきに悩まされず寝れるだろうと思ってテント泊をかってでたのに、となりのテントからはクマのようないびきが・・・なので今日はよく寝れそうです。

明日はアドベンチャーサウスのオフィスに戻ってバイクメンテナンスの講習。あさってはいよいよ、新しいオフィスとガレージのオープン日です。もう引っ越しは終わって、みんな新しいオフィスで働いているのですが、先週になってやっと会社の看板が出来上がり、塗装も終わったので、人を招待してオープニングを催すのを今週まで待っていました。

そしてそして、バスの運転免許取得できました！ニュージーランドのClass 2という、日本の二種免許に相当するであろう運転免許です。これでアドベンチャーサウスにあるバスすべて運転できるようになりました！アセスメントの日、ただのレッスンだと思って、先生のバスをふつうに運転していたら、もうアセスメントの半分終わったからねーって前半は抜き打ちでテストされていました。でもテストってわかっていたら、緊張しちゃうので、半分抜き打ちでよかったです！

ということで、ガイドへの道、一歩一歩進んでいます。。

この夏の北海道でのガイド修行模様を、今月20日発売のBicycle Magazineで紹介していただいています！今週はガイドトレーニングなのでタイミングばっちりですね。ぜひチェックしてみてください :-)

あしたは説明会

あしたはツアー説明会の日ですね。

説明会で紹介されるアドベンチャーサウスの2ツアーは、

どちらとも私も参加したことのあるツアーです。

ビーチtoビーチは記念すべき参加初のツアーでした。

実は英語で書くと、ツアー名はBeach to Beech。

eeがふたつのビーチはブナ林です。

海からブナの原生林へ。ツアー中に見る景色は変化に富んでいて

その名の通りBeach to Beechなのです。

もう一方のミルフォード・ウィルダネスはミルフォードサウンドでの

クルーズ泊あり、マウントクックのハイキングあり、オフロードライドあり、

ニュージーランドに行くからにはぜんぶ体験したい！という

欲張りさんにおすすめです。

Tripod

I like travelling. It's one of the many reasons I work for a company like Adventure South I guess.

I like taking photos while travelling as much as I like travelling itself.

Have you ever experienced, when you are travelling alone or travelling with your friend, getting sick of asking people to take a photo of you?

If so hunt for this camera stand.

It's called Tripod, small and easy to carry, works for any digital camera.

It's great in the outdoor setting too, whether on the rock or on the fence line the legs are so flexible that you can adjust each leg length or tie it down on a tree branch! I'd say it works on almost any surface of the earch - except on water! :-)

日本は秋ですねー

旅行の楽しみと言えば、写真をとること。

この夏、友達と旅行していて大活躍だったアイテム、トリポッドです。

日本では輸入雑貨のお店などで手に入ると思います。

最近クライストチャーチのカメラ屋さんでも売っているのを発見しました。

小さくて軽くて旅行に便利。

でこぼこしてる場所でも足を調整すれば安定させられるので

野外でも重宝します。

トリポッドのおかげで旅行、かなり楽しませてもらいました。

アルバムを見ると、まるでもう一人誰かがいたようです。

おすすめアイテムです。今度のご旅行のお供にぜひ！

今月東京で行われるニュージーランドツアー説明会についてお知らせです。

Short break in Otago

My girl friend from Japan came out to NZ on her short break so we went to Otago for a long weekend! Lots of driving of course, trying to fit all the fun in one weekend. From Christchurch we headed down south to Tekapo. Soaked in the hot pools just opened last summer.
札幌からはるばるニュージーランドまで、友達が遊びにきてくれたのでオタゴに遊びに行ってきました！もうこっちは春で暖かいよ～と伝えていたのに、1週間ほぼ毎日雨。札幌からさむい秋がついて来てしまったような悪天候。そんな寒いニュージーで、まずは温泉でしょ、と去年オープンしたばかりのテカポのHot Poolに入ってきました。

Nice view of lake and surrounding mountains! It wasn't a hot day but after hot pool we felt like ice cream...
湖と山の景色を見ながらゆっくり温まったあとは、アイスクリーム。。しかもダブルです。

My friend became a fan of NZ ice cream! On the way to Clyde we drove into Clay Cliffs in Omarama. It can be seen from the main road but looks heaps better closer.
ニュージーのアイスおいしいね～とすっかりニュージーアイスのファンになった友達。
これを一度食べてしまったら日本のアイスは物足りなくなる！？
この日はクライドに泊まる予定だったので、さらに南に向い、途中オマラマというところで寄り道をして、クレイクリフスを見てきました。粘土層で形成された崖で、メインロードからも遠方に見ることができます。でも近くで見る方が断然良い！

We stayed at Dunstan House, built in 1900 and beautifully stored historic hotel. It's one of my favourites! This night we ate at Post Office restaurant.
クライドに到着。1900年建築のダンスタン・ハウスに泊まりました。金鉱で栄えた町で、歴史的建造物がたくさん残っている素敵な町です。この日行ったレストランは、昔郵便局として使われていた建物を利用したようです。なので名前はポスト・オフィス・カフェ&バー。

やっぱり外国の料理はボリュームが違うね～と旅行1日目から胃袋大きくなってます。

ダンスタン・ハウスは建物の雰囲気も、フレンドリーなオーナーも大好きですが、朝食が良い！あったかいクロワッサンも出してくれます。

This day was only a blue sky day. How lucky to have this weather for the blossom festival! Alexandra holds annual blossom festival in late September. This year blossoms were all gone but we still enjoyed the festival atmosphere.

この日は唯一の晴れの日でした。クライドから車で15分ほどのアレクサンドラという町で、ブロッサム・フェスティバルがあったので午前中はパレード見学しました。今年は8月が暖かかったので平年よりも早く桜が咲き終わっていました。花はもう終わっていたけれど、お祭りの雰囲気だけでも晴れ空の下で楽しめて良かったです！

On the afternoon we went to St Bathans and walked around the Blue Lake. Thanks to the clear sky the colour of the lake was beautiful blue. No photoshopping here. It's natural blue!

アレクサンドラをあとにし、セイント・バサンズへ。晴れていたのでブルーレイクの色がほんとうにきれいな青でした！フォトショップしてません！自然の青色です！ここは金鉱の跡地で人工的に形成された湖です。夏場はローカルが水遊びを楽しみます。

Drove to Dunedin this night and did sight seeing in Dunedin city. This is the train station where the Taieri Gorge Railway finishes the trips at. Beautiful historic building.
そしてこの地方で一番大きな町、ダニーデンへ。写真はダニーデンの駅舎です。

On our last day we went to NZ's only castle, Larnach Castle in the Otago Peninsula, stopped at Moeraki boulders, and went to famous Fleur's Place for lunch. We were there about 2.30pm on the Sunday afternoon and waited for 20mins to get in! It is really popular for local people.

旅行最終日、国内唯一のお城、ラーナック城へ行きました。城内をゆっくり見学して、モエラキへ。ビーチに並ぶ半球状の変わった岩たちを見たあと、モエラキ・タウンシップにあるシーフードレストランで遅めのランチを食べました。2時半だったのに、満席で20分待ち、というほどの人気ぶり。評判を聞いていたので頑張って待ったお昼ごはん。おいしかったです！

Also stopped at Oamaru for shopping and photos. The Otago region has so many interesting historic sights, nice food, and friendly people. Our popular Otago Rail Trail bike tour visits those little gold mining towns on the way, making the trip just more than a bike tour! The first trip departs on the 19th Oct. 日本のガイドブックにはあまり載っていないマイナーなところばかり、連れていってしまいましたが、このオタゴ地方、見どころがたくさんあって観光楽しいです。ローカルの人たちもフレンドリーで、食べ物もおいしい。歴史が垣間見れるところもさらに良い！アドベンチャーサウスではこのオタゴ地方で4泊5日間のサイクリングツアーを催行してます。車の通らないレクリエーション専用ルートを走るので安心してサイクリング楽しめます。夏のピーク・シーズン、2月、3月は毎週月曜クライストチャーチ出発でツアーを行っています。ぜひ一度遊びに来てください。おすすめです！近日中に日本語ツアー案内書をウェブにアップするので興味のある方はチェックしてみてくださいね！

Construction site

Inside the new Adventure South depot. Heaps of development made in the last few weeks! The new premises is going to look very impressive. Cannot wait to move into this new depot!

次オフィス/ガレージでは着々と移転に向けての準備が進んでいます。 オフィス内もガレージも、アドベンチャーサウス仕様に改装されていっています。 自転車ラックやメカニックのワークショップまで自分たちが使いやすいようにすべて手作りです。オフィスは10月2日から3日にかけて移動する予定。移転後の報告、お楽しみに!

My carbon footprint

If everyone on the planet lived my lifestyle, we would need 2.09 Earths... Well, we've only got one and I have to reduce my ecological footprint! Visit the website www.myfootprint.org and take the ecological footprint quiz. By answering 27 questions you can find out how many earths it needs to sustain your lifestyle. The questions it asks in the quiz are interesting, it makes you re-think about the way you live.

突然ですが、エコロジカル・フットプリントってご存知ですか？直訳すると、自然生態への足跡。衣住 食についての診断クイズに答えると、自分の生活が自然環境にどれほどの影響を及ぼしているか、『地球何個分』という指標で評価してくれます。ちなみに私の エコフットは地球2.09個分でした。クライストチャーチから札幌までの飛行距離、往復20,000km。年に一度とは言え、このクイズを受けてちょっと反省しました。

I take long-haul flights annually, from Christchurch to Sapporo is about 10,000km each way. I do feel bad about it! What I've started doing is getting my food from a local farmer's market, so at least fresh foods I eat are not shipped from the other side of the world. Now I also have pots of some veges and herb. Ideally should grow more in a vege garden but I don't have one, so I thought this could be an alternative! At the market I've found a pot of Mizuna (one on right in the below photo), leafy vege which Japanese use for hot pots, soups, salads and all sorts. It's not sold in shops in New Zealand so I was really happy that I found one! Stay well and keep my stomach happy. It's basic but important for me to keep riding to work and home!

でも身近で簡単に始められることから、と思い、最近はリトルトン・マーケットで野菜や果物を調達しています。クライストチャーチ周辺の農家の人たちが作るオーガニックの野菜たちが豊富にそろっていて、野外での買い物が楽しいです。そこで偶然みつけた、みずな。こっちではスーパーにも八百屋さんにも売ってない貴重な野菜。自分で育てるとさらにおいしい気がしてなりません! いつかは自分の庭で野菜を育てて、にわとりも買って卵も自給自足、なんてグリーンでキーウィっぽい生活が夢です。日本語のクイズもあるので、ぜひ受けてみてください!

Sakura

Went to Hagley Park to see the cherry blossoms.
ハグレー公園に桜を見に行ってきました！

Daffodils were flowering as well. Hagley is full of flowers right now!
スイセンもたくさん咲いていて
今時期のハグレー・パークはとてもきれいです。

Many families were there for walking and cycling.
快晴だったので、散歩やサイクリングを楽しむ家族づれもたくさんいました。
少年も走る！

Also found a Japanese gathering under a cherry blossom tree.
That is so Japanese! In Japan people have social gatherings, where they have food and drinks under cherry blossom trees. They are there to appreciate the beauty of short lived blossoms.
桜の木の下で花見をしていた日本人の集まりも発見しました。

桜を見上げていたら、日本人でしょ？
と声をかけてきたローカルのサイクリスト。
家族が日本にいるのよ～といろいろお話してくれました。
桜がよく似合う自転車とすてきなおばあさんでした。

New trip, Molesworth

The Molesworth cycle trip, starting from this season, is attracting quite a few interests! The first trip going out on the 29th December is almost full. It's doing great for a new product, certainly getting attention of many Kiwi people in search of a next Otago Rail Trail. Visiting Hanmer Springs, NZ's largest farm Molesworth Station, two wineries and Kaikoura - I want to go on this trip too! For more details click here

アドベンチャーサウスが今シーズンから新しいサイクリングツアーを始めます！その名も、"Molesworth Cycle Tour"。

オタゴ・レイル・トレイルに続き、オフロードを走る5日間のツアー。モールズワース・ステーションという国内最大の牧場地帯を走ります。位置はカイコウラを内陸に入ったあたり、南マルボロ地方です。

今はDoC(自然保護省)と農場側が共同で管轄していて、自然保護区域でもあるようです。牧場としての歴史の方が長いらしく、ニュージーランドを象徴するちょっとしたアイコンでもあるみたい。そんなモールズワース・ステーションを走るこの新ツアーでは、カンタベリーの温泉街ハンマー・スプリングスや、ホエールウォッチングで有名なカイコウラ、それにカンタベリーのワイナリーまで行っちゃいます。新しいツアーですが、最初の12月29日出発のツアーはすでにほぼ満席という人気ぶり。ニュージーランド人の注目を集めています。私も行きたいです！

Daylight saving

1st day of spring!
September already, cannot believe it's almost a month since I came back in New Zealand. I just figured out today that the day light saving starts this month, 27th September! Japan doesn't have such system but I like it a lot. It allows us to do things outside after 5pm. It helps us stay active and use less power for lighting at night!

All seems to work well in New Zealand, but probably wouldn't suit for Japan. The longer daylight they have, the more power they use for cooling I imagine. Their summer is hot and humid (in the mainland and southwards), and people cannot function without air-cons on a hot day. Because of no daylight saving it gets so light in the very early morning, like 3am. You'd definitely want to close your curtains right before going to bed, otherwise the sun could awake you 3am!

今日から正式に春です！ニュージーランドの春は9月から。そして今月27日には夏時間が始まります。以前は10月上旬からのスタートだったのに、去年くらいから夏時間の期間が延長されました。日の長いときは夜10時くらいまで明るい。仕事終わってから山に行ったり海に行ったりできちゃうんです。夕飯は庭やテラスでBBQ、なんていうおうちも多いです。

残業の習慣がほぼないキーウィは（少なくとも私の周りは。）まだ明るいからもう少し仕事片付けようか、ってならないんです。アドベンチャーサウスのオフィスは、忙しいオンシーズン中でも遅くても6時前にはからっぽになります。家に帰ってそれぞれ好きなことをして夏をエンジョイしてます。いい環境ですね、ありがたいです。

The Food

Something I'm proud of home Hokkaido is the food!

お客さんと一緒に北海道をまわっていると、食事の時間が楽しい。北海道では、見たこともない、食べたこともない物体や海鮮物に遭遇する機会が多く、これは何？これはどうやって食べるの？という質問がとびかいます。ロウファットだし、プレゼンテーションもいい、ということで好評の北海道フード、地元の自慢です。



On our bike trip in Hokkaido most of the time we eat at the accommodations we are staying. The foods they provide come in a great quantity, and the quality of the food is also impressive!

よく聞かれるのが、いつもこんな食事を食べてるの？という質問。ツアー中は民宿や旅館の食事が続くので日本人は普段からこういう食事を食べてるのか、と思うらしい。そうだったらいいけど、実際違いますよね。

I often get asked by clients a question "is this normal? do you eat like this everyday?" I wish we do but no, unfortunately. The food like this is very special. If we try to prepare a meal like this at home it would take a whole day for the preparation.

というわけで外国の方々のために、一般家庭の食事の一例です。というか我が家のある日の夕食です。
So what is a normal home meal like?



This is a dinner my mum cooked for the last night I was home last month. Because it was my last night she made bit more efforts into this than she'd normally do (thanks mum!).

ちなみにこの日は私の札幌ファイナルナイトだったので、いつもより品数多め。（ありがとう・・・お母さん！）
そして、メインはザンギ。北海道では唐揚げのことをザンギと言ったりします。うちでは、衣に卵がはいってたらザンギ、入ってなかったら普通の唐揚げ、と区別しているようですが、ザンギの解釈の仕方は多様みたいです。北海道では給食のメニュー、スーパーから居酒屋まで、あらゆるところに登場する、人気メニューです。

It's just an example of one home dinner... If you ever have a chance to homestay in Japan please do! It will be an interesting experience, eating what locals eat, sleeping in futon and bathing like Japanese etc. etc. Fun!

Jandals

Did you know the word "jandals" (that's how kiwi people call flip-flops) derive from Japanese sandals? I read the book "Kiwi Speak" by Justin Brown and he says so in his book! Another connection between New Zealand and Japan.

It's getting warmer and warmer every week here. Today's highest was 14 degrees, and it's going to get even warmer tomorrow. It's time to get my jandals out I think!

暖かいといえば・・・

そろそろビーサンを登場させてあげてもいい時期じゃないですか？

ニュージーランドでは、このビーチサンダルのことをjandal=ジャンダルと呼びます。他の英語圏の国ではflip-flopとか、thongsと言うらしいのだけれど、Kiwiは独自の呼び方をするんです。

なんでだろう・・・って前から思ってたんですが、このKiwi Speakという本によると、Japanese sandals=日本の草履のようなサンダル、の省略形で、ジャンダルになったそうです。

こんな意外なところでつながっていた、日本とニュージー。新しい発見でした！

Christchurch cycling

Now I'm back in Christchurch cycling to get myself around town. Having been away for a while I've come to realise how good the Christchurch cycling is!

Japan doesn't really have cycling lanes in cities like Christchurch does. There are more and more new lanes developed by Christchurch City Council who has been putting a lot of efforts into the project.

There are lots for Japan to learn from this exercise, and I hope cities in Japan become more friendly to cyclists like Christchurch!



クライストチャーチに帰ってきてチャリ通勤をしていて改めて思います。
いい町だなーと。

クライストチャーチはhillyなエリアもありますが、市街はほぼフラット。市役所がかなり力を入れて、市内サイクリングの振興につとめています。新しいサイクリングレーンもどんどんできているし、レーンにガラスが落ちていたらレポートしてください、なんていうホットライン番号まであります。すごくないですか？！

でも私がひとつ日頃から恐れているのは、
自転車レーン左側に駐車してある車たち。
通りすがりに突然ドアを開けられると大変なことになります。

そんな事故をふせぐため、ドライバーがこちらに気づきやすいように、
明るい色のギアを身につけること。
これはこの国ではたくさんの人が実行しているようです。
派手なウエア、普及しています。
私も彼らに見習って目立つカラーのウエアで今日もチャリつうです。

Back in NZ and shifting

I'm back in cold, cold New Zealand!
Well, it's not as bad as it sounds.

Because I've just been to a new office/depot that we are moving into next month.

The Adventure South office is moving!
It is an exciting move for us, into a bigger, newer, and better premises.

More details to come, regarding the new address etc...

ニュージーランドに戻ってきました。
夏の暑い日本から、冬の寒いニュージーへ。。

というと、ちょっとbadに聞こえますが、
そんなこともありません！
アドベンチャーサウスのオフィスが移動します。

来月末、お引っ越しです。

今日、早速ニューオフィスを見に行ってきました。
今のデポ（倉庫）兼オフィスよりも大きく&新しめな物件です。

夏の忙しいシーズンが始まる前に移転するとのこと、
楽しみです。詳細はまた後日アップデートします。

そして私事ですが、ニュージーに帰ってきて早々、
新居にお引越しをしました。

My final destination, Okushiri Island

Island again!


I went to Okushiri Island off western coast of Hokkaido.



The scenery reminded me of Rausu, Shiretoko. The road was often narrow, just wide enough for one car to go through. A little hillier than the other islands I've been this summer. But still has the great ocean view, funny shaped rocks on the coast which always have distinctive names. It will be more fun to sea kayak around than to cycle around, I thought.


この夏5つ目の離島、奥尻島に行ってきました。島ブームです。この夏のフェリー乗船回数はなんと、8回。ちなみに奥尻は島民風に発音すると、おぐしりになります。


This is "uni-nabe" sea urchin hot pot! When you go to Hokkaido islands you've got to have the uni! Not smelly at all, so nice!
北の島お決まりの、ウニ。しかもこんなに贅沢にウニを使ったウニ鍋は、道民もなかなか食べれません！おいしかった～


Okushiri suffered so much when the big earthquake happened in 1993. Nearly 200 people lost their lives from tsunami and fire caused from fishing boats. The highest tsunami was 29m! So scary.
津波館にも行ってきました。ここで、93年に起きた北海道南西沖地震について勉強です。津波や火災で200名近くの方が亡くなったそうです。津波は最高29mもあったらしい。


Japanese fold origami "tsuru"=crane, that implies long life. We make a thousand of tsuru that becomes "senba-zuru" praying for quick recovery from sickness or injuries. This senba-zuru was at the Memorial Hall I visited. They show half an hour of 3D film explaining how the earthquake occurred and why so many people died from it. It's very sad but to be remembered.
まず入館すぐに3Dの映像を見せてくれます。奥尻島の概要、地震、津波の怖さについて、3Dでリアルに鑑賞。3D用メガネでちょっとおもしろいことになってます。


After the earthquake Okushiri built this evacuation route for people working at the port. This way they can quickly evacuate to higher & safer places.
これは地震後に港に作られた、人工地盤と高架道路。港で働く人たちのための、緊急避難経路です。


This is one of the most famous rock "nabe-tsuru iwa". This rock even lost its bits when tsunami hit it so hard.
そして奥尻島のシンボル、鍋釣岩。



It's a small island with the circumference of approx 70km. It will take a day or two to see the places. It's a little quieter than the other islands I've been to! Good onsen and sea food, of course. Hokkaido is good itself but I also like these little five islands I've been to this summer. Any of them is highly recommended! Hope to introduce you to more islands next year :-)

周囲およそ70kmの小さい島です。海岸の風景が知床の羅臼あたりに似ている様なかんじがしました。これで島シリーズはいったん終了!

今度日本に帰ってくるときは、どの島に行こうかな～

Exploring Ishikari #2

Nice fine day in Sapporo! I had to go to Teine to update my drivers licence so went there by bike. On the way home I cycled to Ishikari, my favourite little town near my home. I wanted to explore Ishikari by bike, so it was a good day for it!

The below is the " country sign " for Ishikari. There are approx 180 country signs in Hokkaido, almost every town has a sign that describes its symbolic thing. It's the way to promote regional tourism in Hokkaido. Ishikari is hamanasu (sweet brier), the light house and the port.

今日は天気がいい!

手稲まで用事があったので、自転車で行ってみることにしました。ちなみに家からの距離は15kmほど。帰りに最近マイブームの石狩に寄り道してみました。写真は北海道をドライブしたら、必ず見るであろう、カントリーサイン。市町村のみどころ・名産をこのひとつの看板で、うまく表示していて、面白いんです。北海道にはこのカントリーサインが、市町村に180くらいあるとのこと。石狩は、ハマナスと、灯台です。

On the way to Ishikari from Teine I went through the city of Otaru that is known for its canal and brick buildings.

で、小樽。やっぱり運河。手稲から石狩への移動中、小樽市を一瞬だけ通過しました。

石狩でぶら～っと小道を入ってみたら、突如あらわれた、野外教室。何に使われてるんだろう？不思議です。

I don't know what this is used for, but this outdoor classroom showed itself up in the middle of nowhere! Such a little cute thing, I had to stop to take a photo.


この前は車で走った石狩浜海岸線の道。マウニの丘、灯台に続くみちです。車もあまり来ないし、海がちらっと見えたり、たまにハマナスも咲いていて、いいかんじです。

I love this backroad along the Ishikari beach. There are some wildflowers on the both sides of road and so few cars!


ちょっと浜に降りたらこんなかんじになってました。

温泉もあります。番屋の湯。宿泊施設も有り。
There is onsen in Ishikari too. This place is located very close to the beach and has accommodation also. Ummm should we use this place for our tour?


こちらは石狩の歴史的建造物。
Right opposite to the onsen and accommodation there is a historic building (below photo). It was once used as a shop and sake storage, now turned into a museum.

札幌市に帰ってくると、カントリーサインが。こちらは時計台。
Coming back into Sapporo, there was a country sign again. Tokeidai = Clock Tower for Sapporo. For people who have spare time in Sapporo I'd recommend to step further north to Ishikari to see the country side!


石狩、ゆっくり散策してみると面白い！石狩の観光、応援したいです。
